Our courses are tailored to your needs and learning style and are structured to incorporate conversation (both speaking and listening), reading, writing and enhanced vocabulary. We offer instruction at all levels of proficiency, from beginner to advanced.
English classes are tailored to Non-native English learners, individuals and corporate clients.
Non-Native English Programs
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced speaker of English, our classes make the difference that can help you progress quickly. Our small classes allow for maximum individual attention, and our teachers are qualified, caring professionals who share a common goal of helping you to succeed.
The curriculum is designed for both domestic and international students from various backgrounds and levels of prior English language education. Upon completions of the coursework students have the confidence to apply to college and succeed in credit bearing college level courses or advance in their current career path.
All students who enroll with ILC take an English language assessment to ensure placement in the appropriate level to meet their educational needs. ILC offers the following English Programs:
General English - Accelerated
The program consists of four levels of instruction and is designed to offer a comprehensive and thorough acquisition of the English language providing the time and practice to sharpen the skills at a regular pace. The extensive courses last twelve weeks and the students participate in at least 18 hours of instruction a week.
Business English
The program consists of three levels of instruction and is designed to enhance the student's ability to communicate in a work environment and with colleagues worldwide. Instruction focuses on improving the four major language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Courses last twelve weeks and students participate in at least 18 hours of instruction a week.
Subject Areas Courses
ILC also offers specific subject area certificate programs that allow students to increase their knowledge in various fields and receive a certificate. Our certificate programs are designed for international students who are non-native speakers of English. Currently we offer certificates in Fashion Management and Philosophy. We are also developing programs in Human Resource Management, Office Occupations, and Administration and Economics. Students can complete these programs in as little as 12 weeks.
Private Instruction
Customized one-on-one instruction maximizes the learning experience and assures rapid progress. Teachers guide students to focus on areas that they need to work on allowing them to acquire a stronger, more expeditious command of the language.
Semi-Private Instruction
Two students are assigned to one teacher. The dynamic between the students, creates an atmosphere for quick absorption of the target language. Semi-private courses makes it easy to have a speaking partner of the same proficiency level.
Group Classes
Small group classes allow teachers to plan and execute activities and exercises that focus on student to student interaction with an emphasis on the immediate use of the language in a setting that is conversational and enjoyable.
Rapid Learning Program
This intensive program is designed for students needing to learn a language as quickly as possible. The Rapid Learning Program is ideal for those who are being sent abroad to work or those whose jobs require a second language (or in some cases, even a third). The duration of the program depends on the proficiency level the student enters with and needs to acquire. These classes are also great for students who will soon be traveling and want a grasp of the language before they leave.
